Tell Us About Your Car and We'll Make You an Offer

It's free, there's no obligation, and whatever number we give you is the number we pay. Most offers come back within the hour while we're open, and most Cochrane pickups happen the same day.

Would rather just talk? Call (587) 355-1650. It's usually quicker.

Where we come

We're based in Cochrane, so a pickup in Fireside, Sunset Ridge, Glenbow or anywhere else in town is about a ten minute drive for us.

Free towing stretches out to 45 km, which covers northwest Calgary, Airdrie, Bragg Creek, Springbank, Bearspaw, Cochrane Lake and Crossfield. We also get out to the Bow Valley as far as Canmore.

How we work out what your car is worth

Four things, roughly in this order. The year and model. What's still working, meaning the drivetrain, the catalytic converter, the body panels, the wheels and the electronics. Whether it runs. And what scrap metal happens to be worth that week.

That last one is why nobody can give you an accurate figure straight off a web page, and why anyone advertising a fixed price for your car online isn't being entirely straight with you.

  • Year and model. A 2018 with a dead gearbox still has a valuable body, interior, electronics and motor. A 2006 with the same fault is close to scrap.
  • What's still working. Drivetrain, catalytic converter, body panels, wheels and electronics all hold value.
  • Whether it runs. A car that drives onto the truck is worth more than one that needs a flatbed.
  • Scrap metal prices. They move week to week, which is why we confirm the market before giving you a firm number.

Questions people ask us

Is the phone offer final? +

Yes. The number we quote is the number we hand you, as long as the car matches what you described. We don't renegotiate in your driveway. If something turns out to be genuinely different, say you told us it runs and it doesn't, we'll have a straight conversation about it. What we won't do is use a scuffed bumper or a flat tire as an excuse to knock a few hundred dollars off once we've turned up.

Is the quote really free? +

Yes, free and with no obligation. We don't charge for the offer, the visit or the tow.

How long is my offer good for? +

Seven days. If scrap prices move sharply in that time we'll tell you before pickup rather than quietly changing the number on you.

Do I need to send photos? +

No, but they help if the car is badly damaged, and they usually make the offer faster and more accurate.

Do you need the VIN? +

Not to give you an offer. We'll take it at pickup for the paperwork.

Will you keep phoning me? +

No. We'll follow up once. If you've sold it elsewhere or changed your mind, just say so and we'll close the file.
